Himalayan Academy, established in 1995 in pursuit of quality education,has been operated by an efficient team of academic professionals who have earned commendable experience in different disciplines. The institution has been showing its outstanding performance to scale the commitment i.e. it has been ensuring quality education ever since its establishment. It is a well-known fact that a country’s development is measured by how technical and applied education the citizens have been provided with.From our experience and the demand of time, the school desires  to introduce unique educational program with both theoretical and practical knowledge simultaneously, not merely quality education a buzz word,providing the skills required to be a competitive global manpower which will certainly be the milestone for the nation building process. The main objective of this school is to impart education of the highest level,using the most up-to-date methodologies to produce benefited citizens.

 Assessment System

To keep the students upto-date in the subject matters and to make them constructive and be ready to present themselves according to the situation, different internal examinations are conducted as listed below:

  i. Surprise Test:

The lecturers can conduct this test at any time and in any form in their convenience without any prior notice. The main purpose of such test is to examine the students creativity and readiness on the recently taught texts rather than rote learning.

 ii. Unit Test:

Unit tests are conducted as the bridge to the terminal tests and such tests are larger in form than the surprise tests.

 iii. Terminal Test:

To prepare students for the main examination, three terminal tests are scheduled in an academic year. These tests are of full length in line with NEB pattern

  iv. Re-Tests:

It is a must all the students to pass in all the terminal tests and failure results them to sit for the prompt re-test on the respective subjects until they pass.

Teaching Strategies & Approaches

The teachers who are qualified, experienced, professionals, dynamic and friendly are truly a responsible guide to the students and encourage them to actively participate in learning. The learning process will be varied, ranging from lecturers to student-centered individuals and group work following modern teaching methods. The college emphasizes on the following teaching and learning approaches to attain the above mentioned aims.

Home Assignments:

We believe to assign as much homework as possible, and the prompt correction and feedback plays vital role to keep the students up to date to the subject matters.

Tutorial classes:

Revision classes and extra backup to the needy students play crucial role to accelerate the pace of learning even to the poor students, and we keep such classes in the focus.

Educational Tours/ Field Trips:

Learning by doing is the key factor of success, and the theoretical knowledge is brought into action through excursions.

Handouts:

As the reference material to support the students in their studies, the teachers of the respective subjects usually provide handouts in their convenience.

Guest lecturers:

Variety is worthwhile, and to break the monotony of the students and to make them acquainted with the core value of the related subjects, we provide guest lectures inviting the reputed teachers or the writers.

Student as a Presenter:

The subject matters taught in the classroom have to be presented i.e. taught by the students turn wise after completing some certain portion of the text.

Orientation on the Course of Study:

Realizing the fact that the students get lost in the beginning of the session due to the new patterns of courses and so on, the college gives orientation classes to track down them through bridging school and college.
